from the not chipppers its almost always LWT/BPLT or Anatomy as highest skill.

Yeah, just look at skill gains messages. If you use for instance laser gun you get LWT skill gain info far more often than handgun.

I believe most naturally skilled people with LWT as there highest skill have used both Laser Handguns and Laser Rifles. Are you saying that an avatar that has ever only used Handgun OR Rifle still has LWT as highest skill?

I did a little of laser rifles skilling, then I did BLP pistol skilling and now I'm into laser pistols but still BLP Weaponry Technology is my highest skill. What is more, since I started laser guns my LWT is rising damn quick! Its moving up far more faster than my Handgun Skill (I know that lower skill moves faster but simply amount of LWT skillgains is greater than Handgun skillgains).

And about Anatomy. It was my highest skill untill two months ago. I dont know why it has changed but hey, personally I do not care much. I do not FAP a lot (I prefer to have better armour or teamhunt stronger mobs) so LWT/BLPWT is actually skill that I want rise faster.

WT is higher because is affects both damage and hit professions whilst handgun/rifle only affects hit.

Based on the figures from entropedia and assuming hit and damage skillgains are equal, then someone with no unlocks would be getting 30% more WT than rifle/handgun. I'd show my calculations but can't think of an easy way to explain it

I can only speak for LWT+Handgun, as that is what i normally use.

Using jdegre's skill scanner i have seen that my skill volume (in TT value) for LWT is higher then for handgun. The percentage is not always the same and skillmod attachments do influence the distribution, but LWT is always higher then Handgun.

This means that regardsless the skill level you have in either skill, LWT rises faster. If for instance you have 6k LWT and 3k HG you will probably see a faster increase in HG, but only because of the low level. If you look at the TT value of the skills, LWT skills faster. This means HG will never catch up with LWT unless you chip it out .

So Wille, the latter two of your assumptions may be right (if BWT and LWT skill under 2 times the speed of HG or Rifle). The first two are not true (assuming similar behaviour of BLP and Rifle when compared to LaserHG).

borr Im confused, do you mean the other way around? As you previously stated that LWT/BWT always rises faster?

What i wanted to say is that i do not know whether the last two assumptions are correct (but i assume they are).

If BWT and LWT would skill faster then twice the speed of HG skills (you use BLP and LWT handguns), then your statement wouldnt hold. But i highly doubt that the TT of BWT and LWT skills is more then double the HG skills.

Althought LWT is my highest skill, WT skills is not my most common skills. Adding up my Rifle skill with my Handgun skill and comparing it with my LWT+BLPWT, my Hit profession skills (Rifle/Handgun) wins over my Dmg skills (LWT/BLPWT) with aprox 16% at my current state.

Did you add the skills in TT or in skill total? Because of the skill slowdown it is expected that when LWT is particularly high, and the handgun and rifle skills are a bit more balanced in comparison to the LWT/BWT skills, that the skill total for the 'balanced' skills is higher then for the non-balanced skill (ie main focus has been on skilling laser). Hope this makes sense.

When adding the skills by TT value, you should get a result more in line with your previous expectation.

Aha! I gett it now, because of the slowdown the sum of Rifel/Handgun skill is higher, but the latest acquired LWT skills have a greater tt value. Have to check when home from work.

EDIT: Have now checked and my WT skills are approx 14% greater in tt value, thus they are the more common skills. Why is still the question? :?
