I am just wondering what everyone thinks about the new contest. Personally, I think it is another collossal MA blunder. You know who is going to win? The team that shares a single avatars login and hunts those mobs 24/7 for the entire contest.

well, as u can read in the contest description will a player that spends more then 6hr each 24hr periode online get disqualified so hunting 24/7 wont help u at all

Na, this is a great idea... simple and open to everyone. No grand schemes and no lame and overly complex and drawn out backstory. This is kinda like the mutant trox event that akoz got his axe from and that was a huge hit. It's just a bummer I don't have 6 hours per day to put into it

I think its a pretty good idea, except the fact that they are using that LA just so they get swarmed with money for this time period. They will make what they give out easy imo, and also the LA there takes a while to get to so after the event whoever has it i bet wont get much work there :l

Well you have to remember they could sell it as well. Personally I think this was another blunder. They are getting closer to putting things together well but this does not satisfy it. The 6 hour time limit helps but lets be honest, this is another who has the biggest weapons contest. Anything that is a how much can you kill type of contest is only going to be won by the people with the biggest weapons and equipment.

This is totally evidenced by the winners. Stormer is a great guy and I am glad he won but nobody can argue the fact that the three people who won were all heavy hitters who had tons of time and tons of money to spend along with incredible equipment.

IMHO until MA imposes skill limits, or at least "divisions" there will never be a fair contest. I do have to say though that the Atrox egg contest imho has been the closest thing to an anybody can win it contest we have had. Too bad the prize was a unique decoration and has absolutely no purpose. If I was ND I would be ultra pissed off at MA although I have my theories that it never went further BECAUSE ND bought the egg.

i believe that is the case as well. i don't think they wanted it to be worth as much as it ended up. but then again common sense seems to be thin on the ground when it comes to valuation to items in this game.

That is entirely true. My other theory is that the egg was never intended to be anything other than a unique decoration which fits in your theory of them never wanting it to be worth what ND paid for it. Having no future plans for it would certainly cap the value although you would think they would have said something about that being the case. Yet again though MA has never been very forthcoming about their plans for much of anything.
