auction madness.

Apparently some people do not understand the auction.
What happened was that someone put about 110 ME in auction.
I bid 2 ped (about 190%). Going rate is 200%. Still I get overbid so someone actually pays about 280% for this. And this has not happened once, but on several occasions. Why not just shout in twin or PA that you want ME for 220%; you'll be swamped with people willing to sell whatever amount to you.

I do not understand some people.

And what I really do not understand is the peep who puts 1 ME in auction (and pays a 50 pec fee to get it listed). Would there actually be people who buy this? Or is it just a way to use the auction for a money transfer?

(ah: now I know; it are scammers laundering their money  )

PS: for things with a lot of orders or where a lot of people take BO the peauction price is perhaps at the low side (although the ingame data is probably quite high).

PPS: peauction lists wrong TT values for a lot of items.

Enjoy!

Dutchie.

I never understood all that much of those things you mentioned either. It seems those who put up small amounts sometimes just do it to transfer money indeed, but not always. I don't get why people selling really small amounts use the auction though - the auction fees take up a lot of the cash in those cases.

dutchie, if you could PM me with items you find on peauction with wrong TT values I would appreciate it. This will allow me to help Travis get them fixed.

Kaiser, At least most of the animal oils are inccorrect (apart from residue)

E.g.:
Item: Animal Eye Oil
Unit TT Value: 7.35 PED
Item: Animal Muscle Oil
Unit TT Value: 12.18 PED

I'm fairly sure I have seen it elsewhere too, and I'll PM you if I find non animal oil related mistakes.
BTW: what about a cross check with entropedia. Witte seems to have the right data (at least for the animal oils)

Enjoy!

Are you keeping in mind peauction lists aggregate TT value and not per unit TT value? They all look okay to me. There was a little bit of time where peauction was picking up some erroneous data but that is all old news.

It's the Unit TT price dutchie is referring to:

Item: Animal Eye Oil
Category: Materials : Natural Materials
Recorded Auctions: 2593
Unit TT Value: 7.35 PED

Whereas the unit tt price is really only 0.05 PED.

Hope this helps

I see, up at the top, not down in the actual auction history.

Personally I do this myself sometimes, mainly with ME. When I am too lazy to travel to get ME and I want a very small amount, I will often bid on an auction about to go just so I can get a small amount in the next few minutes.
