Grounder Wrote:Secondly Dutchie - You are right. The way to get dodge is to get shot with laser weapons. I have been led to believe that the ring is an option but I have never recieved dodge skill there myself. I skill it by find a nice friendly bot that is willing to incur ammo and decay costs by shooting me. Most seem willing to oblige. And yes, death comes swiftly to those of us without the right armour for firearms defense.
Try finding a bot spawn close to a revive. Another tip that was given to me recently is that there seems to be a limited ammount of skill you can get from a single bot - my experience so far is 2 dodge and one other (courage, agility, etc.)

I think I got a dodge in the ring once, not sure though.
Might try to find a place with a bot spawn near a revive
suggestions are welcome !

Enjoy!

Dutchie.

Why take a whole creenshot. why don't just take a reduse zise creenshot, like KittyAmy have on her rifle skills. Lesser zise will also take lesser bandwidth. And a ather option is to replace the dodge screeshot with the new dodge screenshot, with the edit option of your post. That will also make lasser posts, so is not going to be like 500 post in this tread just of scrennshots.

I think 1 point over is acceptable so, unless there is a huge outcry from the current participants you may join.

I am not currently over the starting limit for the competition, as my dodge skill is at 21. You stated the limit to be at 25 ;-)

So here is my entry. My best guess is that it will take me about a year and a half to get to 500 dodge! But hey, I like competitions!

First post states that the progression screenshots should be uploaded to the gallery. So maybe everyone competing should start a thread there with their personal progress?

Nice contest there Grounder...I remember speaking to you about this just last night, great initiative...and its just awesome there are others backing the prize pool. Next contest definitely should be GAIN 500 points in a skill, that way alot more people can enter. Also consider having a longer entry period, with a set date and time the contest is starting might be useful. It is very possible for someone to sell out 100 or so Dodge skill, just havent looked to see if anyone has done so...but it is possible, so I think your idea about every 20-30 is a safe bet.

Well upon looking there are .01, .03, .07, .13 dodge chips on auction, so yeah I think your 20-30 is safe.

Hello Everyone,

It seems there is interest in a challenge for the more experienced among us so I am going to take Addz advise - sort of.

I am going to start a second contest thread for anyone that will be a 500 point gain race - so it won't matter how much you have to start.

I will also take Thorrn's advice and provide a longer start period for people to "sign on"

Look for the thread.

One more thing - an ava may only enter one of the two contests (that way we have two winners instead of, potentialy, just one)

Personally I wouldn't mind if everyone joins this contest. Makes the contest so much more fun. Since skillgains are harder and harder to get, i think the noobs still have a little advantage.

Up to you and the other contestants to decide i guess.

So where should i post my first skillgain screenie? ;-) I have *some* extra dodge as of today, thx for the challenge Big Grin

Post your skill gain screenies to the gallery section.

Post the text update of your skill to this thread and I will update the leader board.

Hello,

I think Borr's idea of starting a personal improvement style thread to track you own advancement is a good one and that all screenies, except the firat and last, should be posted there. That way we all get to follow your developement, cheer on the racers and not use too much bandwidth on the main thread. + Karma Borr.

As you can see from the main post Borr is rocketing ahead and currently stands in first place with 41 dodge points, I am trailing with 28 (too much mining and hunting non-bot's  ).

Everyone can still join. Or if you exceed the entry qualifications for this contest check out the "dodge contest - 2nd round" thread for a contest you can participate in.

BUT most importantly - Have Fun
