Addz Wrote:Kaiser is 100% right on this one. My OA 101 BP is just past 21QR now (started from 1) and im only now just starting to get close to breaking even. and at a guess id say that ive spent around 10,000 ped so far to get there. Especially when u consider that to get a OA worth over 50 PED you need to switch it to quality mode which succeeds alot less often and your spending about 7PED a pop on materials. Then paying hte markup on metal residue so that when you secceed it tops it up to full TT price so that its easier to sell.
it is really alot less profitable than alot of people think it is. People ask what they should do to get into crafting.... i tell them all to take up some other profession.
Hmm But once you past that certain obstackle, you can only get more and more. So after spending annother 10000 ped you start to make proffit, and the next 10000 ped you only win.

Has anyone tried the fruit/sweat trick to possatively establish the decay of the new FAP?
It seems there are multiple stats which means quite a few are wrong or that the new FAP decays in ratio with the heal provided. (my guess is the first option)

Even Buzz and Auktuma don't "always win". Hell even *I* don't always win (known to have insanely stupid luck). There is no point in this game in any profession where you always win.
I understand you see them get uber HoF's almost daily but come on, i don't think you have any idea how much they spend.
I bought 4800PED worth of OA-103's from him once. I was taking them up to mine with and sell a few to pay for my round trip. Anyway, Buzz whipped them out like it was nothing and then still stocked his shopkeeper. My point is here he had 5k PED worth of OA-101's on him (30 of them) and more to put in his shop. Assuming he had 30 more to stock his shop with, that means he had almost 10k PED in OA-103's on him. Now think of ALL the other things he sells and the materials he has to find to make that much. As I am sure you can imagine, it becomes work. They run a tight ship to make it work trust me on that it's obvious. Personally I am just glad it's a nice guy.
I can't give you any numbers obviously because I don't know. He is just a very nice guy i enjoy talking to. I throw business his way and don't bug and we chat a bit. I guarantee you though he is probably making a slim profit on average. They have bad days just like us. Keep in mind these are just my observations I don't claim to know his business.

I think that to get anywhere in this game you have to always put out a lot of money in advance and even then it doesn't work. It also takes a lot of work itself such as ubers skilling way up and getting high agility, crafters getting a high intelligence, etc. On top of that you have to know a lot of people. After all do you think that Buzz could keep up what he is doing if nobody knew who he was?
