Hit ability

I do not know where to put this topic so if it's in incorrect place, please move it somewhere else.

Anyway, what hit ability is? Is it important. What do I gain when I use gun with high hit ability? What are advantages of high hit ability? How does hit ability works? Will I be able to change hit ability or its skills independent (only item depended)?

As far as i know a higher HA will reduce your misses (so increase your hits).
However it is not so that a HA of 1.0 will cause almost no hits, just as a HA of 10.0 will mean no misses
Your HA is on an item is skill dependent. E.g. if you are skilling rifle and check out a gun in the auction you'll see that your HA on that gun increases if your skill increase, even if you do not use that gun at all.

You cannot "change" it unless you chip up the skills. Except of course by skilling as that will also improve it.

CHA (critical hit ability) does the same bot for crits.

Enjoy!

hit ability. or the ability to hit something with your chosen weapon.

this a a rating out of 10. 10/10 being the best.

the hit ability is a general score of your offensive hit skills and slowly increases as you progress upwards in skills. it is said that around 10k in a primary profession (rifle/pistol/sword) you will have a 10HA on a non sib/(L) weapon. (L) weapons may have lower damage or eco but make up for it with a high hit ability.

thats all i can think of right now.

One more question. For skilling (skillgain is at the moment my primary aim) which pistols are better? Unlimited with lower HA or limited with higher HA? Or maybe TT gun (HA is similar to one with limited guns) is the best chose?

BTW.
(guys, you are both in queue for +K but you have to wait a bit)

I would say that limited weapons are better for skilling because they will cost you less in the long run and I think skill at roughly the same pace. At the moment h400's are cheap so maybe go with one of them and hunt efficient mobs? You want a pistol that fires at a high rate of speed as well for the best skill gains.

Hottygurl, I checked out h400 on auction. My Hit Ability with this gun is... 0.0 I thought about buying Emik S30. What do you think of it (HA is about 6)?

Don't buy either. Grab a tt pistol and go skilling on weak mobs until you can use a p1a or something of the sort. Skill with that and the most efficient amp u can put on the weapon. Keep skilling at this rate until you get about 4-5 HA on the h400 then throw two cheap laser sights and a cheap scope on the weapon. Follow this by skilling on efficient mobs and then you will have a decent set of skills by now and the gun will not need the lasers after a short period of time, thus increasing efficiency even more. An alternative would be to skill with the tt/p1a until you can use the lower korss series as well at a decent rate and use the same method as the h400 mentioned above.

okay VanBuren your talking my talk pistols ... more important BLP pistols.

i ran up my begining skills on laser up to about 2k. then i switched to the s30 for one full TT useage, i then used 2 s50s (full TT) i am currently using the s60 (started using it with a 8.2 HA now at 9.5) the gains on it have been equal to that of my early pistol days only i can hunt things a bit bigger with a little bit better eco (less bullets to kill).

what would i recomend:

step one: make a choice BLP or laser (and stick with it this helps your HA)

step two: make a choice pistol or rifle (also stick with it)

step three: find a weapon that is (L) that has a HA that is higher then 7.5

step four: if you get tired of the weapon chosen in step three repete step three

these steps should give you a setup that is economic and effictive. also note that armor should be suited to the mobs you hunt to minimise decay and FAP usage. dont use uber armor for beginer mobs and dont use beginer armor to hunt uber mobs (unless you have plates but thats another lesson).

weapons i would recomend:

*based on skills*
Emik S30 (L)
Emik S50 (L)
Svempa S60 (L)

*non-limited*
FreanD Alpha BLP Pistol
FreanD Alpha BLP Pistol Mentor Edition
Maddox I
Omegaton Z1001 (friends choice)

taking into account that you mentioned BLP i used only options from that skill branch. also note that the non-limited ones will be less economic then pewiki shows as the eco rating there are done with a HA of 10.

Great! I've bought FreanD Alpha BLP some time ago, so it have to wait in storage.

Now, I'll look for nice low end BLP gun (L) with nice price and a better HA. If I fail to find one I'll buy TT gun and skill with this one. I think it would be nice start. Anyway, thank for your advice, I'll let you know in this thread how I'm going. TY again.

edit

On auction I've found pistols that Eron was talking about. The highest HA had Emik s30 (L) (6 crit 6.5). Its even better than TT gun (5.5/6). Shall I buy this one (its for TT+116% sometimes bit higher or lower)? What is best chose?

Hottygurl, does that new data changes your mind about Emik s30(L)?

Laser Sniper professional standing determines your hit ability with laser rifles and carbines just as laser pistoleer does for handguns. Your hit ability (HA) is equal to your (Hit) professional standing for the weapon type divided by 10.

Coppied from the pe-wiki site, and as it stands im very much inclined to agree theres also an article about it over onentropia forum which is trying to calculate how much each skill contributes to this professional standing
http://www.entropiaforum.com/forums/show...tcount=339
long story short if your trying to up your HA your best bet is to increase the related skill which has the highest % efect on the profession that determines the Ha

Chuck Norris won 'Jumanji' without ever saying the word.
He simply beat the living shit out of everything that was thrown at him, and the game forfeited.

@vanburen:

If you are still interested:
I have 3 different S30's in storage with different TT value. Feel free to make an offer (also have 2 S50's).

@eron:

I am not too sure if sticking with the same kind of weapon will give you the best skills.
Typically mixing weapons will give you better overall skils (and also increase related ones, and even unrelated ones).

I got level 4 in whip the other day and I never even touched one.

I'm personally using rifle, and I find that my HA is maxed on eg Riker, but the dam interval isn't.
Actually to create an allround hunting avatar I was planning to increase my skills in other area's than rifle after graduating (still 38 points to go but skill grow is slow in the 1900-2000 range.

Actually planning on melee or pistols on low level mobs for a while so I can get some more evade.
(nasty think of rifle is if you hunt eco & kill the mob in a shot or 5, you hardly get any evade).

Enjoy!

i think you may have mis-understood i was meaning sticking with pistol for pistol HA or rifle for rifle HA. not stick with opalo forever but to pick a skill line and hold to it and help your HA while using the weapon best fitting your current skills.

...

as for evade pistol gives nice evade not great but nice.

edit:

and damnit! its ERON not ENRON please and thank you.

eron, sorry for mistyping your name. Fixed it.

Of course if you want to improve most in a certain skill you should advance weapons.
What I wanted to say is that if you change from rifle to pistol, your HA for rifle will (as far as I know), also improve while skilling with pistols.

Enjoy!
