I read on another site that you can actually swim down to avoid the rippersnappers. I have not tested this myself so please let us know if it works.

If you are on at the right times I may be able to tag along and lend a hand. I cant drop most of the big mobs but I could distract them from you.

Segna is pretty easy. use the land formations to your advantage.
