New player advice

After reading a seperate thread by someone else somewhere else I have decided to start over in EU and put only my working knowlege and current skills out there to try to stay afloat. As I go along I will post various stumbling blocks that I come across in the beginning and post various pieces of advice here that I think can help some of the newcomers around here get a better grip in the game without having to quit due to losses.

As we all know many of us start by sweating. While many newcomers may not know this, there is a new sweat camp near Port Atlantis. Camp Phoenix no longer works because of the turret right next to the tp, and another major sweat spot is at Fort Troy on the southern tip of Eudoria. The main sweat town though has become the Amathera tp called Nea's Place. Many newcomers may have difficulty getting here though, and later on this month if things go the way I see them going, I will be making some runs(probably 3) from the Treasure Island TP all the way through the country side to Nea's Place to hopefully help out the sweat gathering process for all of you.

Another suggestion I have to newcomers is to take off all that shiny new armor you have bought or looted. When you sweat your goal is to gain cash, yet if you take hits and you are wearing armor you may come to town very happy with your load of sweat but realize that half of that load has to go to repairing the damage your armor has sustained. Finally, since newcomers are often strapped for cash you should instead of buying a fap-5 off the bat, instead stick in groups of 3-4 and sweat very weak mobs so that your natural hp regeneration can outheal the mobs that are attacking you. Remember it is cheaper to die while sweating than to try to heal just to get 6 more sweat!

Finally I would like to suggest to the average newcomer that you should be aware of armor scams. Your armor cannot be upgraded without buying a whole new piece and anyone asking to upgrade your armor for a small number of peds is lying to you! Do not fall for this!

another great thing for new commers to know is the differences between TT+ and % even more so here at PEAF (i coined it patent pending).

items that can be used and repaired are items that has a value TT (trade terminal) plus a PED value.
example: male pixie harness, full TT of 2.9PED it sell on average for TT+ .14ped (according to PEA) meaning that a full TT male pixie harness would sell for 2.90+.14 or 3.04PED

items that are either limited (set number of uses) of stackable (one icon many items *wool/hide/iron/etc.*) get a % value, the % is how much the item sells for after multiplying the TT value.
exampe: animal hide sells for "147.23% of TT value" *PEA* that means that if you have a collection of anamil hide worth 10PED it would sell for 14.7PED.

these are very good to know so that you do not get ripped off in selling your goods/loots always try to get the best price and biggest markup you can to continue your journies in EU.

the exception to these rules is clothing and maybe kaiser could better explaine the way they work better then i think i can.

Just as an added comment on this thread I would like to say that do not let a bad day of loots discourage you. I am currently starting over from the very beginning by just sweating. I started off with nothing, and sweated until I could afford a Heatray A and the tt value of an a102 since I have the skills to use this weapon at its maximum potential. I then sweated until I had 10 peds of ammo. At the moment I have a heatray a at about 60%, my amp is at the same value, and I since have 8 peds worth of emik s30's, a ped or two worth of foul bones, and 25 peds ammo roughly. It is possible to work your way up from scratch and once I figure out a way to get some of my goals in this game, for example at the moment hunting to afford a fap-5, then I will post a general tutorial for newcomers. Think of it as sort of a mentorship guide for newbies to use. Yes, I do have a lot more skills than the average newcomer and I also have the ability to use weapons at a better efficiency from the start, but the way I am doing things at the MOST all it would require for a newcomer to follow the exact steps I took is to sweat a bit more to first skill up a few things a tiny bit and then they should be fine. Furthermore, after I get a fap-5 I am hoping sometime I can get a global or something so I can afford my 'first' set of armor and hopefully a faster firing gun that's about as efficient as the heatray A is(around 4.32 dmg/pec with amp).
